 Third National Contest of journalistic skill
"The Power of a Pen"

JSC NC "KazMunayGas" and the Association KAZENERGY announced the third national contest of journalistic excellence, "The Power of a Pen", which aims to improve the creativity of members of Kazakhstan's journalism.

The main goals of the contest are to draw public attention to the achievements of the oil and gas industry of RK, increasing interest of oil and gas companies in Kazakhstan in transparency and information openness, maintaining a healthy friendly competition among the media in Kazakhstan, covering oil and gas topics, as well as the creation of a unified model of media space.
The competition is open to editorial staffs of the national, oblast and municipal, district periodic printed editions and TV and radio companies, individual applicants - journalists (staff and freelancers), working in regional and national media, as well as other or authors whose materials have been published or used in television and radio broadcasts.
This year's competition "The Power of a Pen" will be held on the following
categories:
- Grand Prize;
- The best program / special report on the Oil and Gas Industry at the national TV;
- Best photo;
- The best radio program;
- The best material in the national print media;
- The best material in the regional print media in the Kazakh language;
- The best material in the regional print media in the Russian language;
- The best student work;
- The best blogger;
- The best material on the history of oil and gas industry.

Introduction of new nominations will promote among journalists progressive types of the new-media (blogging, mobile journalism) as well as to attract the attention of young media professionals in covering the oil and gas topics.
The material published in newspapers and other media reported, including Internet media, that were broadcast on the television and radio in the period from 1 January 2011 to August 20, 2011 can be presented for the сontest. Application deadline is until September 26, 2011.
