On June 8, 2018, the 2nd Renewable Energy Summit was held in Astana in the Nazarbayev Center – an international industrial platform.
The initiative of the Summit is supported by the Government of Kazakhstan represented by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy is the co-organizer of the Summit.
The event was opened by the tree planting ceremony, where the Summit guests took part.
Makhaambet Dosmukhambetov, First Vice-Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs RK Atameken Yeldos Ramazanov, Director General of the KAZENERGY Association Asset Magauov, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan Aigul Solovyova and others presented their reports and view. Foreign speakers from Germany, Italy, China, South Korea, India, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia and Azerbaijan also spoke. Speaking with a salutatory word, Magauov noted that The KAZENERGY Association stands for the development of Renewable Energy Sources (RES). However, one should not forget about the social orientation and significance of traditional energy.
In the opinion of the Director General of KAZENERGY, large-scale construction of RES is payback and cost-effective, when the cost of electricity received from them is less or equal to the price of electricity generated by traditional power stations and will be able to compete in the electric power market.
The economic component should be based on the further development of the RES sector. The most effective and low-cost projects should be implemented.
