For reference.

As Mr. Fatih Donmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, noted earlier at the Kazakh-Turkish Investment Forum, Turkey and Kazakhstan are striving to gradually increase the annual bilateral trade from the current USD 5 bn. to USD 10 bn. in the next seven-eight years.

“The trade volume, which entered a downward trend in 2013 and afterward, showed an increase of 23 percent in 2017, it is well below our potential”, - Donmez noted. In 2017, the trade volume between the two countries reached USD 2.4 bn., however Donmez stated that this year it can be even higher. “Today, we will witness the signing of 22 bilateral agreements between Turkey and Kazakhstan worth USD 1.7 bn.”, - he said, adding that Turkey would like to bring this partnership to a new level with the introduction of new projects and by expanding further sector agreements. New agreements will develop relations between the private sectors of the two countries, in particular in the transport, engineering, chemical, energy and mining sectors.
