On February 12 the third meeting of the Program Committee chaired by Uzakbai Karabalin, Deputy Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association took place in Astana. Members of the Committee, representatives of the largest oil and gas companies in Kazakhstan proposed their ideas on the architecture of the Energy Week that includes the XII Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY that firmly consolidated the status of the central energy event of Kazakhstan, an interactive exhibition, and over 20 specialized events that will take place in Astana for 5 days.
A number of events will take place during the KEW devoted to a significant date, the 120th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s oil. As it is known, the beginning of the country's oil and gas annals was laid in November 1899 when the first fountain of “black gold” hit the Karashungul tract from a well 40 meters deep. This holiday has a special meaning for all the country's oil and gas industry workers symbolizing the great achievements of the industry that has become the 14th country in the world in hydrocarbon production. Just in the past 2018 a new record was marked when the oil production reached 90 million tons for the first time in Kazakhstan's history. Also about 105 billion m3 of gas was extracted.
This year the KAZAKHSTAN ENERGY WEEK 2019 will start on September 23 and will last till the 27th. The main theme of the Forum will reflect the key trends in the global and Kazakhstan energy sector, and their impact on energy markets.
During the meeting there was also a discussion on the KAZENERGY participation in the elections of the World Petroleum Congress in 2023. An application for the Association participation was submitted on January 31 of this year. Voting of the WPC member countries will take place in the framework of the Council meeting in St. Petersburg in June 2019. It is worth noting that the WPC includes about 70 countries of the world that account for over 96% of the world production and consumption of oil and gas. The World Petroleum Congress is an important event in the global oil and gas industry organized every 3 years. The main goal of the Congress is to create a dialogue platform to allow experts, analysts and industry experts to discuss innovative achievements, technologies and the use of the world oil resources for the benefit of humanity.
Thus, preparation for the largest oil and gas events is proceeding at full throttle. We invite all interested parties to take part in the KAZAKHSTAN ENERGY WEEK 2019.
