The Digitalization Forum organized by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. with the support of the Akimat of West Kazakhstan region was held on November 29 in Uralsk.
The Deputy Prime Minister A. Zhumagaliyev, the Akim of West Kazakhstan region A. Kulginov, General Director of KPO B.V. E. Blom and Executive Director for the development of oil and gas and energy sectors of KAZENERGY Association R.Kabzhanov presented their welcome remarks at the Forum’s opening ceremony. The representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, oil and gas companies, universities and IT companies participated in the work of the Forum.
One of the key topics of the Forum was the presentation of the planned digital transformations of KPO B.V. operating activities. The Forum participants were presented with the KPO Digitalization Roadmap according to which the company will implement digital technologies in well operations, production, field works, safety and health regulations etc.
In addition, the Memorandum of cooperation and understanding was signed within the Forum between KPO B.V., KAZENERGY Association, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of West Kazakhstan region. The main goal of this memorandum is to involve the university students of Kazakhstan in addressing the tasks of operating activities and increasing the efficiency of KPO through the use of digital technologies.
The involvement of students in the digitalization project will enable them to demonstrate their engineering thinking, develop technical skills, implement breakthrough ideas through the start-ups elaboration under the project and to get an invaluable experience. KPO Digitalization project will facilitate the development of future professional staff.
