Damir Narynbayev, Executive Director of the KAZENERGY Association, took part in the 14th International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development, held on October 28–30, 2025, in Skopje, North Macedonia.
During the session “Policy Dialogue and Forward Strategy”, he delivered a presentation titled “Kazakhstan’s Energy Transition: Aligning Resources with Strategic Vision”, outlining the key approaches of Kazakhstan to ensuring a just and sustainable energy transition.
In his address, Mr. Narynbayev emphasized that Kazakhstan is steadily moving toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, through the development of renewable energy sources, improvement of the carbon trading system, and creation of favorable conditions for attracting green investments.
He noted that the KAZENERGY Association is actively involved in the development of the Roadmap for the Implementation of the Carbon Neutrality Strategy, as well as in the promotion of ESG standards, energy efficiency, and digitalization.
Special attention in his speech was given to the importance of a just energy transition, which includes supporting regions, developing human capital, and implementing climate-related projects.
Mr. Narynbayev’s presentation drew strong interest from participants and made a valuable contribution to the international discussion on the sustainable energy future of Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region.
